The Muscadet Sèvre et Maine 'Le Bourgeais' from Domaine du Bourgeais is a light, elegant white wine made exclusively from Melon de Bourgogne grapes. This grape variety arrived in the Loire Valley in the 1700s and marked the start of a new era of production, after a frost had compromised its cultivation in Burgundy, its region of origin. On the nose, it offers hints of white fruit, with notes of hawthorn and subtle citrus undertones. On the palate, it stands out for its tension and structure, with vivid freshness and a savoury finish. Excellent paired with the traditional Loire ‘Moules Marinières’, i.e. mussels cooked in butter and seasoned with parsley
